Modern machines.

CNC Precision & Craft Nepal bridges precision CNC machining with Nepal's heritage woodcraft. We restore Newari jhyal windows, machine architectural wood panels, cut and engrave aluminum and brass, and build the workshop-grade power that keeps it all running - modern manufacturing set down beside traditional craft.

SEC / 01Executive summary

A real market, waiting on its machines

Nepal has world-renowned hand craft and a fast-growing demand for precise fabrication, but almost no bridge between them. Builders need repeatable architectural panels, heritage sites need exact jhyal copies, and machine owners need parts and reliable power. The shops that can hold a tolerance today are the ones that win those contracts tomorrow.

This venture starts small and honest: one desktop machine and a single job done properly, then a step up to a production router, then into metal. Each stage pays for the next and builds the proof that local, precise making works.

Five verticals, one workshop

  1. 01

    Newari jhyal & woodcraft restoration

Scan, replicate, and repair carved window panels and heritage woodwork with repeatable precision - then finish each piece by hand.

  2. 02

    Architectural wood panels

Precise, repeatable decorative panels, screens, and façade elements for homes, hotels, and public buildings.

  3. 03

    Aluminum & brass fabrication

Cut, engrave, and machine signs, nameplates, fittings, and trim in metal at the same tolerance as the wood side.

  4. 04

    Replacement parts

Reverse-engineer and machine worn or obsolete parts for machines, vehicles, and production equipment.

  5. 05

    Power & inverter setup

Clean, workshop-grade power and inverter systems so CNC work runs steadily through Nepal's irregular supply.

Five episodes from zero to your first cut

A practical, on-the-floor series for the person buying Nepal's next CNC machine. No theory for its own sake - each episode ends with the machine running and something made. Expand an episode for the word-for-word narration script, the shot list, and further viewing.

Goal · A shop where the machine runs safe, accurate, and repeatable before the first cut.

Narration script

Welcome to the first episode. Before we cut a single line of G-code, we set up the workshop so the machine can run safe, accurate, and repeatable - and that starts long before the spindle turns.

Let's start with the anatomy. A CNC router is four honest parts: the frame, the motion system, the spindle, and the controller. The frame carries the load. The motion system - the rails, ballscrews, and steppers - moves the head exactly where the code says. The spindle is the tool that cuts. And the controller is the brain that turns our numbers into movement. Learn these four and the whole machine makes sense.

Now the part most people skip in Kathmandu: power stability. The grid spikes and browns out. Each swing shortens spindle life and quietly ruins cuts. Your first upgrade is not a tool. It is a stable, filtered power source, a dedicated circuit for the machine, and a real earthing rod driven into the ground.

Earthing matters more than it sounds. A proper earth is the difference between a machine that reads clean G-code and one that picks up noise on every probe. Check the continuity with a multimeter. Ground both the frame and the electronics box. Do it once, do it right, and you stop chasing ghosts forever.

Then dust extraction. The same dust that blunts a cutter ruins your bearings and your lungs. Fit a dust shoe close to the bit, run a shop vacuum with a fine filter, and keep the enclosure sealed. It looks like housekeeping. It is actually machine maintenance.

Finally, safety. Locate the emergency stop before anything else. Wear eye protection and hearing protection. Never reach over a moving spindle, never wear loose sleeves, and never trust a machine that is running. The rule is simple: if it moves, you stand clear.

That is the foundation. In the next episode we take the first design from a blank canvas to a toolpath the machine can run.
